HospitalGuide does not collect, store, or share personal medical information. We are a directory search index. We collect only standard anonymous usage logs for site performance analysis, and correction request submissions which are stored securely and used solely for editorial purposes.
1. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how HospitalGuide ("we", "our", "the site") collects, uses, and protects information obtained through your use of the website at this domain. It applies to all visitors, whether browsing hospital listings, using the search directory, or submitting a correction request.
This policy does not cover the privacy practices of any hospital, clinic, or third-party website that you may navigate to from a listing on HospitalGuide. We are a directory only — we have no affiliation with, nor control over, the data practices of linked organisations.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
HospitalGuide is a read-only public directory. We have no user account system, no login functionality, and no patient-facing services. As a result, we do not collect:
- Personal medical history, health records, prescriptions, or diagnostic information of any kind
- User account credentials, passwords, or authentication tokens
- Payment information, credit card numbers, or financial data
- Government-issued identification numbers or insurance policy details
3. Information We Do Collect
3a. Server Log Files
Like all web servers, our hosting infrastructure automatically collects standard access log data when you visit any page. This includes your IP address (anonymised after 24 hours), browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and date/time of access. This data is used solely for security monitoring and aggregate traffic analysis. It is not associated with individual identities and is not sold or shared.
3b. Correction Request Submissions
When you submit a correction request on a hospital listing page, we collect your name, email address, and the correction details you provide. This information is stored securely in our application log and used only by our editorial team to review and process your submission. We do not use this data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond editorial review. Correction submissions are retained for a maximum of 12 months.
3c. Cookies & Session Data
HospitalGuide uses session cookies to support standard site functionality (such as pagination state and search query persistence). We do not use tracking cookies, cross-site advertising cookies, or persistent user profiling cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect some site functionality such as search result pagination.
3d. Third-Party Advertising
HospitalGuide may serve contextual advertising via Google AdSense on some directory pages. Google AdSense may use cookies to serve relevant ads based on your browsing behaviour. 4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We do not share correction submission data with hospitals or any third-party organisation. The only circumstance in which we would disclose data is if required to do so by applicable law or a valid legal process from a competent authority.
